This stage starts from the heart of Passignano sul Trasimeno (municipality belonging to the association “I Borghi più belli d’Italia”, the most beautiful villages in Italy) and starts through the narrow streets of the old town, up to the Castle, from where you can admire the village and the lake. Once you have crossed the ancient medieval village, the path heads straight up the hills that rise above the village. The view is beautiful: Lake Trasimeno, Maggiore and Minore islands seems to smile.

When you arrived at the panoramic area, the path becomes a real walk. Far from any form of civilization, immersed in nature, you can breathe the pleasure of walking.

Then, passing through the tower of Monte Ruffiano also called Torre delle Streghe, you reach a rest area from which you can enjoy an exceptional view of the lake, and which is located right next to the archaeological site “Villa di Quarantaia”.

The traces of history are very present along the Via del Trasimeno!

Then the path continues along a very sweet and pleasant ridge, from which we continue to enjoy the discreet presence of Lake Trasimeno, our faithful traveling companion along the way.

Going through woods, olive groves and vineyards, you arrive slowly to the village of San Savino, which overlooks the sunset from the top of the hill every evening, where it will be nice to take a last picture at the finish of the stage.
